Meadowbrook Care Center Celebrates Staff, Residents in May

Take a moment to think about these questions. What are you doing for yourself and others each and every day? What makes you happy? How are you contributing to your happiness and the happiness of others?

Next month, the Washington, DC -based American Health Care Association’s Skilled Nursing Home Week, gives you an opportunity to act on your reflections.

Each and every day, over 15,000 skilled nursing centers assist residents with disabilities in living their happiest and best lives. Whether it’s gardening, cooking, reading a book or even listening to their favorite music, these centers pay it forward by helping individuals find their own happiness to improve quality of life.

The American Health Care Association (AHCA) celebrates the dedication of employees in skilled nursing centers to enhance the quality of life of resident by hosting National Skilled Nursing Care Week to be held May 12-18, this year’s theme of “Live Soulfully.”  This week will celebrate skilled nursing centers, and their residents and staff, by showcasing how they achieve happy minds and healthy souls.

“Each and every person in our profession makes an impact on the lives of our residents,” said AHCA/NCAL President and CEO Mark Parkinson. “National Skilled Nursing Care Week [established in 1967 and formerly called National Nursing Home Week] celebrates our centers and caregivers for their tireless everyday work caring for others.”
